Introduction:
Well, it?s now time for a long-delayed review of one of the most eagerly anticipated pieces of computer equipment available in 2001. No, not GeForce 3, Radeon 2, or DDR chipsets? It?s the EverGlide Wrist Rest Plus! A silicone wrist rest that seems perfectly designed for EverGlide?s excellent line of mousepads, can this ?premium? wrist rest live up to the high-quality standards EverGlide is known for? We?ll take a look, and in doing so, wrap up this series of reviews that uncover the most overlooked but extremely important pieces of the ultimate computer gaming rig.

Features:
You can?t expect feature after feature on a wrist rest, however I was still pretty impressed. There were two things that really stood out. First, the EverGlide Wrist Rest Plus uses a sticky but non-adhesive base similar to window decals, so if it ever gets full of gunk, simply wash the base off and its ready for use again. So you can be sure that this pad will stick where you need it and not move until you are ready to move it. Second is its half-oval design; this shape allows it to perfectly fit into the rounded bottom of the EverGlide Attack Pads or the flat bottom of the fUnc sUrface 1030.

Performance:
I really do have to say that this thing feels pretty cool. There have been reviews on the web talking about how it ?feels like a boob?. I really hate to burst anyone?s bubble, but it really doesn?t.

The main reason for me getting this is because of my raw wrist I started to develop after I got my Boomslang 2000, because this mouse has a low profile and you really only move it with your fingertips. Your wrist spends a long period of time flat against the desk and can get a little sore after days of use.

This all changed once I got the Wrist Rest Plus under my wrist. It wasn?t one of those solid plastic rests that come attached to some cheap mousepads or one of the pillow style rests that you can also find. The EverGlide Wrist Rest Plus offered a very relaxing and comfortable feel that has lasted the entire time I have used it, most importantly I don?t have the raw, red, and sore wrist I had before. There are some ?gel? wrist rests out there that allow you to have very quick movements while still keeping your wrist on the pad. The EverGlide pad really is not one of these; it doesn?t allow you quite the same amount of movement as some other rests out there. However, for a mouse like the Boomslang where you don?t need that extreme movement, this is a much better product.

Conclusion:
I have never used a wrist rest before, and I never really saw a point in using them, until I needed one. Although the price is a little high compared to the other wrist rests out there, this one does seem to have a different feel to it, and I highly recommend it. There is just something you can?t quite put your finger on, but sets it apart from the rest of the competition. All around it is another great product from EverGlide. The only downside is the price, if you can swallow that however, this will definitely help you on your way to the perfect gaming system.
