After the trilogy finished on the silver screen, game publishers have been bringing more Lord of the Rings titles to console, PC and now cell phones. Although JAMDAT has already published titles for The Two Towers and The Return of the King, the newest title, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, promises to take the best action sequences of all three movies and roll it into one wireless game.

Perhaps a tip of the hat to the success of Splinter Cell on the wireless platform, Lord of the Rings Trilogy will feature two main modes of play. You can be a swashbuckler and run through all the orcs and minions with a sword just like the movies. Or similar to Sam Fisher, you have the option to sneak past them.

However, like JAMDAT’s earlier Ring games, Lord of the Rings Trilogy will focus purely on action with a little RPG sprinkled in. In this outing, gamers will have a chance to play Aragorn and go through key scenes from all three movies. The Mines of Moria and the mountainous Minas Tirith are just some Tolkein creations you’ll be able to quest through. There are puzzle elements too. Ones that involve rolling boulders, for example, can be hindering you or you can turn the tables by using them against the enemy.

Will Lord of the Rings Trilogy be the best of the best? Stay tuned for the game’s release and we’ll find out.
