Neuro is a story-driven first person shooter that takes place in the distant future when humans have mastered interstellar travel. You assume the role of a psi-soldier, working for a powerful corporation which controls research carried out by human colonies. During the first mission, the protagonist and his partner will come to blows with an influential and corrupt politician. Those who have played the space fighter game, HomePlanet, will find many of the factions and events (Troiden, Clouto, etc.) familiar as Neuro extends upon the backdrop established there.
Though Neuro is a first person shooter, it will not simply be about run and gun violence. Both planets are inhabited by NPCs and the game will let the player can communicate with them to gain some local information and explore the cyberpunk world the developers are crafting.
Artificial intelligence is also another area where Neuro will try to differentiate itself. Foes in the game are will attack in organized teams. They’ll have the awareness to raise an alarm to call up reinforcements if they decide they are not in sufficient numbers to beat the player. The enhanced artificial intelligence will play fair though. Enemies will not be able to see players in the dark but will rely on sound like recent stealth titles such as Thief or Splinter Cell.
As the title of the game suggests, psionic abilities will be a big part of the game. Your character will be able to utilize psionic abilities to see through walls and obstacles, use telekinesis to move remote objects and take outright control of other characters. The developers are spending time trying to craft the missions that will feature gameplay that will take advantage of this, enabling clever players to utilize some of these abilities to their benefit.
Additional features of Neuro include the following:
7 different locations, which include settings like a megalopolis, scientific labs, space station, jungle and a military base
More than 20 different enemies, with mercenaries, drug dealers and clan soldiers
15 kinds of weapons
Cyberpunk backdrop
Psionic abilities including the ability to take control of your enemies
Advanced enemy AI including reinforcements and team tactics
A custom soundtrack specially created for the game
Graphics will be based on an in-house engine by Revolt Games
