In Law & Order II: Double or Nothing, a man is shot in the middle of a busy street but nobody sees or hears a thing. So you need to partner up with Detective Lennie Briscoe to sift through the clues and find the killer, and then help Assistant DA Serena Southerlyn put the killer behind bars.
In other words, Double or Nothing works just like the first game in the series, Law & Order: Dead on the Money. The engine even appears to be roughly the same, with locations such as the morgue and the precinct house being identical.
However, there are three differences of note: The time limit in the game is gone, so you don’t have to worry about playing the investigation perfectly; test results and background checks are performed instantaneously, so you don’t have to sit around and twiddle your thumbs any more; and the case file “grew” so it can hold 84 clues now instead of only 52. Anybody who played Dead on the Money will appreciate those three changes.
Look for Law & Order: Double or Nothing in stores this week, as well as our full review coming soon.
