Regis: We have Clarence in the hot seat now and it says
here you're from Toronto, Canada.
Clarence: That's correct.
Regis: Our friends to the north, fantastic! Well, you know
all aboot the lifelines don't you Clarence? Aboot, get it? That's a
joke.
Clarence: Whatever you say Regis.
Regis: Ok, let's play!
[ Cue 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' effects ]
Regis: Here comes your $100 question. What new
additions have been implemented into the Who Wants To Be A
Millionaire Second Edition? Is it:
A) New Interface
B) New Lifelines
C) Relatively Nothing
D) Mmmm, Peanut Butter
Clarence: [pondering]
Regis: Why don't you talk it out Clarence, it might help.
Clarence: Alright, I will. I'm thinking the interface is
exactly the same. You still move through 15 progressively harder
questions en route to the one million dollar prize. I'm thinking the
lifelines are exactly the same as the previous version. You can poll
the audience, eliminate two incorrect answers and phone up one
of Regis' buddies. I'm thinking the only new additions to the game
are a set of 600 questions and new color commentary from you
Regis. I'm thinking this is exactly the same as the first edition and
I'm thinking it's simply a ploy by Disney Interactive to cash in on
the popularity of the game show and the original PC version. So
I'm going to answer C there Regis.
Regis: Really? Well, I'm sorry to say Clarence, you're
absolutely CORRECT! Ok, let's move on to the $200 question. Why
are people eating up the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire PC title?
Is it:
A) It features Regis Philbin
B) The music is nerve racking
C) It's challenging
D) Mmmm, Peanut Butter
Clarence: That's an excellent question Regis. It does
feature you and your witty commentary and the game show music
is represented well in its unnerving kind of way. It's also a fairly
challenging trivia game but that's all it seems to be, a trivia game.
Much like the original game, there's no reason not to risk your
money, there's no reason not to guess when you don't know the
answer and there's no reason to sit and keep playing after you've
been through it once. It doesn't represent the game show well so
I'm going to have to go with D Regis: Mmmm, Peanut
Butter.
Regis: I can't argue with that. Is that your final answer
Clarence?
Clarence: You know what Reege, I think I'll stop here
instead. I'll take my $100 and go grab a few beers because I'm just
not having much fun.
Regis: Well listen, it was great having you in the hot seat
Clarence and just for fun sake, let's see what the right answer was.
Would you look at that, Mmmm, Peanut Butter was the correct
response. You could have won $200. Oh well, thanks for playing
Clarence.
Clarence: Thanks for including a quit button Regis.
