Well, here it is. Your chance to finally make the RPG of your dreams and impress everyone while simultaneously breaking into the business. Well, maybe not, but it's still a lot of kicks just to play around with a design tool of any sort. There are various levels of game design out there. There's bare bones writing an engine from the ground up and then there are the pre-built engines you can buy and design around. Now, one thing is almost universally true: most “build your own adventure” tools don't have a lot to offer. However, RPG Maker 3 does a pretty good job of making a fairly powerful program that isn't too hard to use, though you will wish you had a mouse.

Is Dungeon Siege II a fun game to play? It’s polished and well made, it has a long campaign, and there’s even some re-playability to it, both for starting a new character and playing the campaign again, and for upping the difficulty level and continuing the exploits of your first character. I enjoyed Dungeon Siege II even though it’s not the type of role-playing game that I usually hope for, and I expect fans of the genre will like it even better than that, assuming they’re not buying it for the multiplayer aspect, since multiplayer seems to be having problems at the moment (the couple times I tried joining games, I got errors). So it’s easy to recommend the game. It’s worth the $50 suggested retail price.

What we said about it:

Lost in Blue is a fun ride, though it is extraordinarly open-ended. You could conceivably spend hours simply hunting and eating while not advancing the plot at all. Or, if you so choose, you can attempt to burn through the game with a quickness. It allows you to set your own pace and to make your own rules, though all within the confines of the game itself. It's innovative and interesting, though it can be very frustrating when you can't quite think your way around a dilemma and there's no obvious answer. Either way, it's definitely worth a go, and possibly two, as there's an option to play the game again, this time as the girl, after you beat it your first time around. Give it a ride.
